AP Information Night

On January 19th the AP community invited anyone interested in taking an AP class, to their AP information night, From grades 8 to 12 were able to catch a glimpse of what the AP program has to offer and what you would gain; being that they are such accelerated courses.

I admired how, to start off with this event, they allowed the AP ambassadors of this campus to express, “ What would be the appropriate amount of AP courses you should take a year?”. Fortunately enough, our ambassadors are students just like us, so they were honest and told everyone that came, to at most take 2 AP classes but if you think you can handle more, go for it.

For the rest of the evening, students, parents, and some teachers broke out in different “Meets” to the class of their choosing. And for a span of 9-15 minutes would listen to the teacher that is over that course. For the class that you decided to take a look at. Generally, The teacher would discuss the course description, what units that you would go over throughout the year, and the format of the Exam in the spring, in their own flair on a slide show.

With all said, and I'm sure others will agree with me that are in, or interested in joining the AP program, I am grateful for the students, teachers, and faculty that planned this event. And allowing us to have the opportunity to be informed of a path for life.
