This past Saturday, November 13th, the Eisenhower Band and Color guard performed their 2021-2022 field show for the last time at the WBA Regional Championships at Trabuco Hills High School in Mission Viejo.
Their field show was titled “The Age of Baroque” and featured music by several well-known Baroque composers, including George Frederic Handel, Henry Purcell, Johann Pachelbel, and Antonio Vivaldi. The band performed at approximately 12:10 p.m. where they were the first in their division to perform.
In total, they competed against 6 other bands that include: Rosemead High School, El Segundo High School, Los Alamitos High School, Palisades Charter High School, Mission Viejo High School, and Rowland High School. The Eisenhower High School Band and Color guard scored a score of 73.850 and placed 6th place, beating Rosemead High School. In 5th place came El Segundo, 4th was Los Alamitos, 3rd was Palisades Charter, 2nd was Mission Viejo, and 1st was Rowland High School. This marked the end of the Eisenhower Band and Color guard’s 2021-2022 marching season.
The 2021-2022 drum major, Melanie Alcocer had this to say about the season, “I’m very proud of everyone in band, they did an amazing job! I am a little sad this is my senior year but I couldn’t have ended it on a better note”. Up next for the Eisenhower Band and Color guard is Concert Band, Indoor Percussion, and Indoor Color guard.
