Elite Eagles USC/UCLA trip

By: Arlynn Del Cid

Eisenhower's Elite Eagles made their second trip of the school year to USC and UCLA on Jan 25, 2023. As you may or may not know these top schools are rivals with each other. During our first stop both the group and I learned that USC’s mascot Tommy gets full on duck taped during football season because UCLA comes onto USC’s campus to vandalize it. However we can’t call USC saints either because they also do the same to UCLA’s statue of Joe the bear. While walking the campus of USC we came across some globes made from materials that are destroying our earth. Ironic isn't it? We sadly weren't able to go into USC’s grand library but that gave us an opportunity to look around the campus freely and find the building’s that inquired what we want to become someday. Some of us may or may have not gotten lost. USC’s atmosphere was astronomically amazing alongside their food and gift shop of course!

Secondly we stop by UCLA of which we got a great tour of, from our previous valid-Victorian Alexandra alongside her friend. Here we learned a lot about each individual building Including the STEM, law, art, and communication departments. During the tour we learned a lot about their famous architecture which was designed to replicate some of Rome's architecture.

The Elite Eagles last stop of the day was at Santa Monica Pier. Here we had all the freedom in the world. Some of us went to the beach, walked on the pier, ate, rode roller coasters, Ferris wheels and watched an absolutely beautiful sun set.
