Thank you to our football team for protecting our nest last Friday night against Palm Springs! They might have been bigger than our boys but we were faster, stronger, and more agile. Because of that Eagles won 28-7. Our boys were ready to play and everyone in our stands was ready to watch. Despite having to deal with some complications of Mother natures tears before and during the game, the turnout of students, family, and faculty was amazing, and supported our Eagles nonstop for the duration of the game. Each one of our boys was locked in and ready to go. Instead of spewing vague facts about what happened on that field, it would make more sense to hear from the players themselves. Here are some of the highlights that our boys were able to remember from that memorable night.
Highlights
Daniel Ruiz #12( Quarterback):
Shakil James #7(Running back):
#57Raymond Gutierrez sacked the opponent quarterback causing a fumble that allowed Blanco to recover and score
Eagles defense gets huge stop to end the game deep in the red zone to finish the game strong and keep the win streak alive
Jacoby Pointer-Caldwell #21(ATH):
Daniel Ruiz did a great job finding openings and overall leading the offense
#24 Dashaun Benton had a great game with 2 touchdowns and making people miss open field
#32 Thomas Felix did a great job in stepping up as linebacker and getting a few tackles despite being undersized
#10 Darion Flucker played his first varsity game that day and the team couldn't be more proud
This win has not only made our school have more pride but also has gained more confidence in each player. These boys have been grinding hard over the summer, it shows in their performance. With this being the last first game of the season for our senior Eagles, they are proud to begin this season so strong. With this being their 3rd win of the season the team is going to take a small break and continue to improve with each game they have. Keep it pushing Eagle and let's take it all the way!
Go eagles!
