HOW WE CONNECT TO MUSIC

By Arlynn Del Cid

Music. A thing that connects us all in the form of beats, rhythm, and words. The thing that fills the cup of emotions that we hold throughout the day; the thing that is beside us in the late nights when we find ourselves dreaming about the future. Music is truly the home to the ears, the soul, and the heart. Without music our wonders and whys would be rather too loud. There is music for when we feel happy with smiles and rays of sunshine, sad music disguising what we truly feel and making the world go quiet, and music that allows us to remember things.

The ability to connect a song to a particular moment in life is truly a great wonder! You see, music truly does connect us all, it is like that “particular moment in time” the song you placed to it reminds you of the people you were with. Although those people may have gone off to their own wonders in life that one song you listened to with “them” is no longer a song, it became an emblem of a moment and that person. For this is a single example it cannot be generalized to many yet now that one song has become the worst of all rhythms.

When music enters its home in our soul water drips but that just shows that we are connecting to words and rhythm, those words and the rhythm allow us to know we aren't alone. Music has allowed many to defeat those tough battles formed through the wonders and whys in our heads. The word Music has 5 letters and those 5 letters connect us all through the infinite amount of genres, words and feelings.
