Rival Game: Eisenhower Vs. Carter

Tension and zeal filled the halls in the Eagles nest last Thursday against our rival Carter High School( who weren’t much of an opponent to begin with). Even though Carter was trash talking us since pre-season we had the last say with the help of ASB flooding the halls with posters in manifestation of this “shocking” win. With this tactic in play, it brought a boost of school spirit to our fellow eagles that just might have broken the attendance from our first home game. Instead of them pouncing on us on our own territory, not only did we beat the little kittens but we soared against all odds and broke their pride with the score of 42-7. Our boys were on fire and never stopped dominating the field.

The MVPs of this game are the dynamic duo, receiver Dashaun Benton #24 and quarterback/kicker Daniel Ruiz #12. Between Daniel’s bullet passes and Dashaun’s great receptions; Carter never really had a chance to catch up. Dashaun made 5 out of the 6 touchdowns. Each touchdown required Ruiz to thrust the ball from the center of

the field (40 yard line) to Benton who was open right near the endzone. Some honorable mentions would be #2 Benardo Blanco with a great hand off in the 1st quarter making the score 8-0 and and #21 Jacoby Cadwell-Pointer ATH with a slight wardrobe malfunction when one of the Lions tore his jersey in an attempt to block but, the team adapted and got a new jersey within a second of the incident so he can continue the down.

Props to the offense of line efficiently communicating and executing their plays with precision. Aside from the game there was tension between the cheer teams. So much so that there was a whole cheer off during halftime. The crowd went crazy and was supporting our Lady Eagles all the way. Even after that they were still competing across the field as the clock was running. Overall this rival game was the perfect extent of rivalry and everyone that went could agree. We're now 6-0 and still are not done. Keep it up Eagles!
