The first cases of Coronavirus appeared in December 2019 in Wuhan, China and in January 2020 the virus was identified as the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV). The Coronavirus comes from the same family of viruses as the flu and the common cold. Currently there are no vaccines or specific medication for the Coronavirus but it is still treatable and it can still be prevented. Since it is similar to the flu, the same methods to prevent the flu also apply to th

e Coronavirus:

  • Frequently washing your hands with soap and water.

  • Cleaning surfaces around you with disinfectant wipes.

  • If you cough or sneeze, cough into your elbow or a tissue. Remember to throw away the tissue and to wash your hands after.

  • Do not touch your face if you have not washed your hands.

  • Avoid being near people who are sick.

  • Carry around hand sanitizer, tissues and disinfectant wipes.

Symptoms of the coronavirus include:

  • Cough

  • Sore throat

  • Fever

  • Shortness of breath

  • Fatigue

  • Headache

  • Runny nose

If you happen to have these symptoms please stay home for the safety of others and make sure you go see your doctor right away. It's important to see a doctor so they can diagnose you. Although it is more likely that you will have the flu or a cold than the Coronavirus, for your own safety it is best to go see a doctor and have tests done.
