The Eisenhower Marching band is well into their marching band season having done 3 competitions since the beginning of October. They have competed with bands from all over Southern California from places like San Diego, Riverside, Orange and Los Angeles County at various schools around those areas. So far the band has played at Ayala High School in Chino Hills, Riverside City College (RCC) in Riverside and most recently at Vista Murrieta High School in Murrieta. Eisenhower's Golden Eagle Regiment continues to show schools from all around that despite any adversity that might be in their way they will still show up and stand strong against programs that may have less intense challenges as ours have.
A prime example of our marching Eagles' resilience was demonstrated at the last two of the competitions they performed at in Riverside and Murrieta. The “RCC Big Orange Classic” Hosted at RCC by Western Band Association (WBA) was a competition held on October 15th. In the morning the sky was bright but cloudy and there was an even chance of rain. The event continued on like normal but by the time the eagles were set and ready to push on the field around 5:15 pm the clouds were dragging low near the ground and were dark enough to hide the sun at the end of the day. After the eagles finished their performance with a drizzle that started and picked up halfway through the performance they loaded their semi-trailer in the drenching rain that soaked the city for the rest of the night and was amplified by the thunder and lightning that came down closely around them while trying to eat after their long day of work. Despite all of this they earned a score of 61.525, a 3.75 point jump from the previous competition and only 1.15 points away from the next school above them automatically qualifying the Eagles for another round of championships in November. If that wasn't enough the very next week at the “SoCal Tournament of Gold'' in Murrieta, the winds kicked up just in time for our eagle's performance and managed to push over two props both made out of 80 pounds of steel during a performance. However, that didn't stop them from scoring even higher than the last performance with a 62.475 showing that rain, shine, wind, or thunder they can go out and be the very best they can be no matter what.
Eisenhower’s Golden Eagle Marching Regiment ended the season with “Class Championships” at Chaffey High School in Ontario, CA on November 19th. The Eisenhower Eagles performed at 4:20 p.m. and placed 14th officially ending their marching season with a score of 76.212!
