November 5, 2021, was a long awaited night for Eisenhower high school students. Our football team was ready to give it their all tonight. All their hard work and dedication was very well shown on the field, this was their first playoff game.
During the first quarter of the game Eisenhower started off rough with Ventura scoring a point, passing the 32 yard line in the first 20 minutes leaving the score to be 0-6. This had put a lot more pressure on the players.
The second quarter started with number 25 McGee with a handoff, Ventura scored 0-9 in the first 10 minutes of the second quarter. Number 9 Brandon then kicked the ball over the field goal ending second quarter 0-16. After the second quarter ended, halftime started. We had an amazing performance “The Age Of Baroque'' by our band and Color guard.
Third quarter has just started, and in the first few seconds of this quarter Trey Backson scored a touchdown, Ventura then passed the 34 yard line. After about 4 minutes number one (Ike) ran to the 23 yard line and scored yet another touchdown. Then Eisenhower had 4th down. Eisenhower then covered their ball by number 21. 21 then passes to Ozworld 76 who threw to number 18 hitting the two yard lines which resulted in Ventura scoring another touchdown. Number 30 (Ventura) scored the extra point. Number 2 (Eisenhower) got tackled by number 3 Ventura, Ventura called a time out, after the time out the game continued and number 9 Brandon kicked the ball over the field goal ending third quarter at 20-23.
Five minutes into the fourth quarter Eisenhower scored a pass from Kevon to number 1 Kevin for a touchdown Ventura went for their first down of the quarter. #12 Garcia got tackled into the middle but one of their players got the ball and made a touchdown. Eisenhower eventually got caught up but the last few seconds of the fourth quarter was intense and Ventura scored their last touchdown, which ended the game 27-36, unfortunately we lost.
In spite of their loss they still played amazing on that field. Unfortunately since this was a playoff game this was their last game of the season.
