Friday night on the 20th of October, we commemorated events that impacted our families, alumni, and students. Our football players and cheerleaders of the class of 2024 all got their chance to shine with their family and friends for our senior night. Senior night allowed for celebration and mourning for the loss of our fallen eagle Bryan Jenkins, who passed away the week before from classified causes. A moment of silence was given in his honor recognizing the impact he made on those he called his brothers and the confirmation that he is at rest. Bryan would be proud of how our boys played the game that night.

The two predators of the sky battled to claim their title. The Summit Skyhawks fought hard but fortunately didn’t fight hard enough. The Eagles took it home with a final score of 31- 22 by never letting their guard down. The principles of respect and resilience were in play on and off the field, it did not matter what their position was, it was clear that they were able to listen to anyone. Our star players were #21 Jacoby Cadwell-pointer who was all over the field, from making touchdowns to having his teammate's backs when needed and catching the Skyhawks kickoff from the 30-yard line. #24 Dashaun Benton made the first touchdown for us after being in a 13-8 lead in the first quarter. And finally, big props to #2 Bernardo Blanco with a successful interception in the 3rd quarter after three failed attempts from both teams. Communication slipped only once allowing Summit to score a touchdown, but other than that Eisenhower was untouchable and now is in range to go to the playoffs with this win. They just need one more game and the championship will be at their door.

Friday night was a time warp to say the least. 20 years ago, the class of 2004 walked Eisenhower's halls with such enthusiasm, to the point that they decided to come back to celebrate our homecoming weekend with us. They walked in our parade and fun fact the class of 2004 was the most involved class for their 20-year reunion.

They had the most people come out and catch up out of every class since IKE was established. They were so involved that in honor of their 20-year reunion, the Homecoming Queen Ashely Pernel and Homecoming King Mark Klopping bestowed their reign to the new Homecoming King and Queen. Congrats to Devonte Gaston and Adrie Mosqueda who won the well-deserved title of Homecoming King and Queen. Before the end of half-time, Eisenhower had a successful parade that made everyone in the parade proud of what they were a part of, and was engaging to people in the stands.

This homecoming was just the beginning before Eisenhower eagles stepped out of the silver screen and strutted onto the red carpet. Friday night was full of memories, pride, and life from everyone that came.
