This year’s Nightmare Before Hoco was hosted on October 26. As suggested by the Homecoming title, the theme was Tim Burton. Hoco took place in the gym, which was amazingly decorated by ASB with posters of Tim Burton movies hanging from the walls and spooky, mood-setting lights. Everyone dressed fabulously, as it was, of course, a night to impress. It was one of the biggest events of the school year, with a large turnout, plenty of dancing, great food, and fun activities.
On one side of the gym, there were multiple arcade games like Pac-Man, as well as a photo booth to capture the night’s memorable moments. At the center of the room was the dance floor, alive with flashing lights and a mix of hit songs and classic tracks. People flocked to the middle, singing their hearts out and making memories. It was how the night all came together, everyone you know on the dance floor, the blasting music, it was like there was no choice but to leave all your apprehension at the door and have a fun dance. The music featured both English and Spanish songs—a perfect blend to get everyone in the mood for a night full of dancing. On the other side of the gym, tables and seats were available for catching your breath or enjoying the complimentary food of tacos, rice, and beans.
The night also included the announcement of the Homecoming court winners. Congratulations to all the winners, and recognition to the entire court. It was a close race, with many excellent candidates on the ballot. This year’s 12th-grade king was Aidan Keo, and the queen was Jennifer Lopez. The 11th-grade princess was Diana Reyes, and the prince was Adzel Calderon.
Overall, the night was a blast, and anyone who attended would surely agree. ASB did a fantastic job creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere. If you weren’t able to attend this year, I highly recommend going next year—it was truly an unforgettable night.
