This 2021-2022 school year at Eisenhower high school, a brand new activity had been added to spirit week. The new activity was, Anything But A Backpack Day. It consisted of encouraging students to bring their school supplies in anything but a backpack, there were little to no limits on what the students could bring. Some students were bringing pots, pans, suitcases, strollers, trashcans, wagons, some even brought shopping carts and piñatas!
The whole school was rambling about how someone even brought a whole play kitchen. Various teachers were writing down on their whiteboards the items the students were bringing and keeping count how many things were repeatedly brought. Some people might have recognized this school activity from the popular app TikTok and really enjoyed that it was added to Eisenhower’s spirit week. Let’s hope new, fun activities like this are included in every spirit week here at Ike because students seem to be having so much fun letting their imaginations run wild.
